PSR 0833

8 Wire Pairs Downconverter

for the Remote Powering System RPS 1600

Powerful

Robust

Efficient

The new 8 channel remote module is offering a more enhanced feature set and makes the remote powering of active equipment much more efficient. With its embedded enhanced cascade control it is offering a more powerful redundancy across multiple PSR units as it is controlling all PSR units which are combined to a single service. This new cascade service is also signaled via the new cascade-ID to the NMS system and makes the service assignment much more efficient. Further this PSR unit can be easily configured and managed locally by the new software “PSR Control” via an interface cable. Also, software update and adaptation of the RPS 1600 system to different copper line length is offered now.

Performance

  • Power output: ≤ 120 W (8wp)
  • Cascading of up to 4 x PSR 0833 for output power of up to 480 W
  • Combining of up to 12 x PSR 0833 delivers up to 30 A / 1,440 W output
  • Up to 15 W per line @ 5 km range*
  • Nominal output voltage: 48 V DC
  • Nominal output current: 2.5 A DC (electronically regulated)
  • RFT-C feeding voltage: 140 – 380 V DC
  • RFT-C feeding current: < 60 mA (per each power sink)
  • Up to 92% power efficiency
  • IP20 protection

Additional features compared to PSR 0831

  • basic functionality of PSR 0831
  • compatible with PSR 0831 and its feature set
  • enhanced cascading interface
  • automatic cascade control
  • local configuration and software updates via diagnostic & configuration cable and software „PSR Control“

System Integration

  • Required components at central office: PSC 1600 / PSC 08xx
  • Small footprint (W x D x H): 222 mm x 235 mm x 45 mm
  • IP20 ingress protection
  • Surge protection acc. to ITU-T K.45
  • Provided for rack mounting

assumed parameters: diameter of copper wire = 0.4 mm; wire resistance < 1,500 Ω

APPLICATIONS:

FTTC – Feeding of active components in street cabinets from central office site, e.g. micro-DSLAMs, VDSL2-ONU

FTTB/H – Feeding of active components in buildings from central offices or street cabinets, e.g. micro-DSLAMs, ONU (Eth or VDSL out), fibre switches

Mobile nodes – Providing remote power for small cell-nodes for 4G / 5G networks (eNodeB)

Power resilience for critical telecommunication applications, e.g. emergency lines, monitoring systems, CCTV
