Analog Leased Lines Connected With the IP World in No Time

BIG 56 – the simple, flexible and cost-efficient way to realise migration to All-IP networks

albis-elcon enhances their BIG product family with a new member – the BIG 56 migrates analog leased lines to All-IP networks without changing the existing end customer´s network. Network operators do not need to maintain their aging infrastructure, but can increase utilization of deployed leased lines. This results in significant cost savings, higher energy efficiency, and the option to have lines leased multiple times. Existing Service Level Agreements (SLA) hereby remain in place.

„With the BIG 56 we further simplify the integration into current systems. Our device can be connected via any type of access, be it ADSL2+, VDSL2, SHDSL or Fiber. When developing this new product, our approach was to make configuration and linking of several devices over the leased almost fully automated“, stresses Eric van den Heuvel, VP Product Unit Infrastructure at albis-elcon.

The idea of an autonomous system will be implemented consistently in all aspects of the devices: The Session Initial Protocol (SIP) is already integrated in the BIG 56. This relieves customers from the costs for a SIP-server and its configuration. It also simplifies the connection of analog modems via the internal protocol ITU-T V.150.1, which transforms the modem traffic to IP-networks. Maximum flexibility is guaranteed with the device management that supports multiple standards, such as TR-069, CLI, SNMP, and its management software „MetroIntegrator”.

„Completing the entire system with just one component – this is what the BIG 56 stands for. Putting the device into operation requires neither additional equipment, e.g. softswitches, nor expensive training of technicians. We keep our promise: Power to Complete Networks“, underlines van den Heuvel.

The BIG 56 is offered in three versions for different application scenarios:

BIG 5604 with four FXO-interfaces; BIG 5622 – with two FXS- and two FXO-ports; BIG 5640 with four FXS-interfaces.
