albis-elcon to Showcase Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Internet TV Solutions at The States General RIP Event in France

Advanced Access, Backhaul and Network Management Solutions Drive Network Expansion, Migration, and Optimization

albis-elcon announced today that the company will be participating in The States General RIP (EGRIP) event in Deauville, France on March 15, 2016. EGRIP is a private conference and exhibition dedicated to the development and growth of business and residential services powered by broadband networks. During the event, albis-elcon will demonstrate a variety of “smart home” solutions, including residential CPE and set-top boxes (STBs), designed to help network operators and service providers quickly respond to the evolving demands of their customers.

“Connected devices are being used today for a wide range of broadband enterprise applications from videoconferencing to telephone services, telemedicine, cloud computing, and more. While these new services and applications are very exciting for consumers, they demand a high level of technology from network operators and service providers,” said Werner Neubauer, CEO at albis-elcon. “During the event, we’ll demonstrate the new fused product line of the albis-elcon group, which allows players in the broadband space to respond immediately and effectively to changes in consumer demands and technology.”

At EGRIP, albis-elcon will demonstrate its award-winning range of fiber service gateways. The FOS series offers best-in-class Wi-Fi technologies, including support for the latest EAD, FOS, and GPON standards, as well as a smart home platform design that can connect to third-party device hardware with low power consumption. Through support for a variety of management protocols (e.g. OMCI v2, SNMP v1/v2, syslog, SSH, Telnet, and TR-069) and a fail-proof, zero-touch auto provisioning mechanism, the FOS series ensures ease of use and trouble-free installation at a low total cost of ownership.

albis-elcon will also showcase the company’s SceneGateâ„¢ set-top boxes (STBs) at EGRIP, showing support for a variety of traditional (e.g. IPTV, broadcast television, and VOD) and value-added services (e.g. OTT, interactive content, and media sharing). SceneGate STBs are available in a variety of configurations, including as a turnkey and off-the-shelf solution. The turnkey solution is pre-integrated with third-party applications, conditional access, and backend systems, enabling service providers to introduce new revenue-generating offerings in a very short time. Through its “pay-as-you-grow” approach to scalability, the turnkey STB solution significantly reduces CAPEX for service providers. By providing operators with a reliable, affordable, and low-maintenance carrier-grade STB solution, albis-elcon makes it easy to deliver a cutting-edge television experience to subscribers in a matter of weeks.

albis-elcon’s RPS 1600 remote powering system for FTTx nodes will also be on display at EGRIP. The RPS 1600 is designed to enable network operators to faster and more distributed Internet connections. Featuring a carrier-grade design, high level of safety protection, and intuitive network management functionality, the system guarantees power from 30 to 1,000 Watts over the telecom network.

Using a complete albis-elcon solution, network operators and service providers can successfully achieve network expansion, migration, and optimization for business and residential services.
