Inside albis-elcon

csm_img_4382_ed_jb_28c6012a88rps_aussenanlagealbis-elcon puts into operation an outdoor test plant for its Remote Power System RPS 1600. An ingenious set-up simulates in detail a real application scenario, thus allowing for fast and accurate customer support. The test plant enables albis-elcon to efficiently and reliably reproduce customer requirements under real conditions. Using the collected data, albis-elcon develops client-specific solutions that ensure consistent and reliable operation of the Remote Power System, which is used worldwide.

The outdoor test plant consists of an active switch cabinet that houses a VDSL-DSLAM. For remote powering of the VDSL-DSLAM via albis-elcon’s PSC1600, the system has been extended by two power supply modules PSR0831 which make local powering via the 230 V AC grid redundant. An optical fiber uplink connects the VDSL-DSLAM with the main cross connection cabinet. The supply voltage for the two remote power supply modules is provided by the PSC1600 from an adjacent switch cabinet over copper twin wires.

csm_img_4375_ed_jb_6e0a92ba51To make test conditions as real as possible, the IP68-protected power supply module PSR0822 has been additionally attached to a pole. The remote powering test line runs between the company´s inhouse test centre and the PSR0822 on the pole. Measured values and performance data of the equipment are permanently monitored and evaluated with help of the MetroIntegrator management system.
