Key Technology Demos and Products on Display

New RPS 1600 Remote Powering System
At Broadband World Forum 2015, albis-elcon will showcase its RPS 1600 remote powering system for FTTx nodes, designed to enable network operators to achieve higher bandwidth services and faster Internet connections. albis-elcon’s RPS 1600 solution features a carrier-grade design, high level of safety protection, and intuitive network management functionality, guaranteeing power from 30 to 480 W over the telecom network.

Using the RPS 1600, operators can optimise energy distribution in networks while exploiting the bandwidth and performance capability of fiber-based access networks, realizing up to 40 percent cost savings compared with traditional powering systems. The RPS 1600 reduces the time it takes to roll out FTTx and small cell networks by eliminating the need to work with local and regional power utility suppliers. Leveraging existing copper networks, operators can ensure a high power output at all times and superior (about 90 percent) energy efficiency on the subscriber side.

SceneGate™ STB Solutions
albis-elcon will demonstrate its total solutions approach to delivering IPTV and OTT services at Broadband World Forum 2015. At the heart of each albis-elcon solution are the company’s SceneGate™ set-top boxes (STBs), which support a variety of traditional (e.g. IPTV, broadcast television, and VOD) and value-added services (e.g. OTT, interactive content, and media sharing).

SceneGate is available in a variety of configurations, including as a turnkey and off-the-shelf solution. The turnkey solution is pre-integrated with third-party applications, conditional access, and backend systems, enabling service providers to introduce new revenue-generating offerings in a very short time. Through its “pay-as-you-grow” approach to scalability, the turnkey STB solution significantly reduces CAPEX for service providers. By providing operators with a reliable, affordable, and low-maintenance carrier-grade STB solution, albis-elcon makes it easy to deliver a cutting-edge television experience to subscribers in a matter of weeks.

ACCEED Carrier Ethernet Solutions
albis-elcon will address the need for guaranteed, defined, and controlled access to packet networks and network connectivity by showcasing its ACCEED family of Ethernet Demarcation Devices (EDD) at Broadband World Forum 2015. Using the ACCEED family for business access, mobile backhaul, and wholesale applications, operators can improve time to market while maintaining high-integrity networks.

The ACCEED family offers third-party interoperability and MEF CE2.0 certification, making it easy and affordable for telco operators and service providers to support Carrier Ethernet services. A variety of solutions will be highlighted during the show, including albis-elcon’s new ACCEED 4420, an edge aggregation switch that offers 10G and 1G interfaces, support for protected Carrier Ethernet Aggregation, and comprehensive SLA enforcement for hundreds of services.

Using the ACCEED 4420 for Ethernet aggregation applications, operators and service providers can aggregate a significant number of customers to a 10G uplink, build 10G aggregation rings to backhaul 1G/FE customers, or support a higher number of UNI ports to address various service models. The new EDD features immediate availability of the ACCEED OS CE feature-set and full integration with albis-elcon’s MetroIntegrator™ network and element management platform, enabling a comprehensive control of network elements. By providing operators and service providers with a highly scalable, future-proof, EDD for Metro Ethernet Aggregation services, the ACCEED 4420 increases flexibility and agility and paves the way to software-defined networking (SDN).

BIG 5530 Business Intelligent Gateway
At Broadband World Forum 2015, albis-elcon will demonstrate the BIG 5530, a business intelligent gateway that offers a seamless migration and business continuity, optimising the delivery of ISDN services over all-IP networks.

MetroIntegrator Network and Element Management Platform
albis-elcon will showcase its MetroIntegrator network and element management platform at Broadband World Forum 2015. Featuring a strong multi-level navigation framework, MetroIntegrator provides operators with a comprehensive overview of the network, allowing them to quickly zoom in on specific network elements that require attention. Through its flexible and scalable architecture, based on the ITU-T M.3000 series for the Telecommunications Management Network, MetroIntegrator brings simplicity to the increasing complexity of transport networks. Using the network management platform, operators can easily prepare for SDN-based automation and enhanced service management as well as run advanced network management applications from within standard browsers.
